Frontier Works announced on Saturday that it will release a new version of Daidai's The Aquarium does not dance (Aquarium wa Odoranai) puzzle adventure horror game on Nintendo Switch and Steam. Frontier Works will release the digital version on August 1 for Switch and Steam, will release a physical version for Switch on October 30 (the physical version will only be available in Japan). The release will feature support in Japanese, English, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
The new version will have character voices and new original content created by Daidai.
The cast will include:
- Tomoyo Kurosawa as Suze
- Yumiri Hanamori as Retro
- Satomi Satō as Lulu
- Rie Kugimiya as Kitty
- Tomoe Tamiyasu as Chrissy

Having been gifted a premium pass to Bianca Aquarium, Suze and her best friend, Lulu, receive a guided tour of the place led by the aquarium director's charming wife, Chrissy. However, when Lulu suddenly goes missing, Suze goes looking for her and inexplicably finds herself in a strange and terrifying world that looks nothing like the aquarium she was at just moments ago.While searching the building, now overrun with gruesome sea creatures, a mysterious armed woman dressed like a soldier appears before her. The woman, who introduces herself as Retro, is also looking for her companion, a girl named Kitty. Can Suze find her best friend and escape from the nightmarish aquarium before it's too late? Beware, for a traitor lurks in their midst...
The "horror-hating creator" Daidai solo developed the game over the course of eight years. The game originally released in February 2024 on Steam (with no English support), and reached more than 100,000 downloads in two days, eventually reaching more than 600,000 downloads. The game has a planned drama CD and merchandise in the works. Yū Tōmin launched The Aquarium does not dance manga in Kadokawa's Dengeki Maoh magazine in November 2024.
