This year's 45th issue of Shueisha's Young Jump magazine revealed on Thursday that Gaku Tanigaki will launch a new manga titled Takami no Takami-san (Takami in the Heights) on Shueisha's Tonari no Young Jump website on Friday. The manga is a serialization of Tanigaki's earlier "Madofuki Gyaru no Takami-san" (Window Cleaner Gyaru Takami-san) one-shot, which debuted on Tonari no Young Jump on July 11.
The manga centers on former high school teacher Arai, who has just taken a new job at a building cleaning company, cleaning windows on skyscrapers on an aerial work platform. Responsible for showing him the ropes is Takami, a younger co-worker who is nevertheless his senior at work.
Tanigaki previously worked on the manga adaptation of Mitsuo Iso's The Orbital Children (Chikyūgai Shōnen Shōjo) original two-part anime film project. Tanigaki launched the manga in Tonari no Young Jump in May 2023, and ended it in February 2024. Shueisha published three compiled book volumes for the manga.
