The official X/Twitter account for the One Piece franchise announced on Friday that Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga is taking a one-issue break and will not appear in this year's 45th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on October 6, due to Oda's poor health. The post stated Oda was currently recuperating.
The manga is planned to continue in the 46th issue, which Shueisha will release on October 14 (a Tuesday, as Monday, October 13 is a national holiday in Japan).
The manga's 112th volume shipped on July 4.
The ongoing anime adaptation of the manga premiered in 1999. The Egghead arc in the anime debuted in January 2024.
Writer Jun Esaka and artist Sayaka Suwa's One Piece novel HEROINES light novel will get an anime adaptation.
The second live-action season based on the manga will premiere on Netflix in 2026. A third season has been greenlit.
