Attack on Titan

In the anime and manga series "Attack on Titan", the soldiers of the Survey Corps use a type of sword called the "Vertical Maneuvering Equipment," or simply "3D Maneuver Gear." The swords themselves are not particularly special, and are essentially just regular, small, one-handed blades. However, they are mounted onto the maneuver gear, which allows the soldiers to zip through the air and swing around buildings and trees, giving them the ability to fight the Titans in a three-dimensional space. The swords are used to slice into the Titans' weak spots, which are located at the base of their necks, and are the only way to kill them. The swords are designed to be easily replaceable, as they become dull and damaged after extended use in battle against the tough skin of the Titans.
